Having a conveyor system installed in your business doesn’t mean that you should always be at ease that at least the part of your daily business operations that involves the transportation and moving of materials and products within the premises will go on smoothly forever. True that the conveyor systems play a vital role in a company’s ability to efficiently move their products in a timely fashion, yet, if the company does not know how to properly maintain the conveyors they use, there is a good chance that those conveyors will malfunction at some period of time resulting to much hassle and delay in the business’ operations.

There are some things that people tend to overlook when it comes to taking care of their conveyors. One of them is the lack of lubrications. Lubrication is essential to the conveyor’s chain bearings in order to reduce friction. Some workers often overlook contamination as a factor that causes the malfunction of conveyors, only to realize when it’s already too late that powder, drops of paint, alkaline fluids and even abrasives that land on the raceway of a bearing can lead to bearing failure.

Just like any equipment, conveyors too, need regular maintenance and inspection in order to perform at peak of its capacity.
