You may initially think that your current salary or the income generated by your small business is enough to cover your family expenses and yet by the end of the month you get surprised that no matter how big you earn, you still end up struggling to make ends meet. Especially in today’s time that almost every person is having a hard time coping up with the commodity price hike and unemployment due to economical crises, it is important that you manage your finances in order to avoid huge debts and bankruptcy.

In managing your finances, it is not required to download or purchase budget software although this could be a great help. You can opt to just list all your expenses within a month or so including those expenses that seem to you as insignificant. This is to let you know where your money goes to. After listing your expenses, try to analyze and arrange them from important expenses to not so important, then see whether there are expenses you can do without. For example, you tend to buy a bottle of soda every night on your way home from work. You can deal without buying soda every night, and you will see how much you can save within a month as little expenses can be great expenses when added up together.

It is also important to pay your bills on time or before the credit is due to avoid fees and interest rates that add up on top of your expenses.
